Finishing Touches

We installed a new manifold and pump so we can switch from potable to seaw
ater for washdown purposes.

We now have an ERB on board just in case for safety ..Thanks Captain KEN!

We are now planning on leaving by the end of March thanks to Mom agreeing to take on the cats for the first few months until we return for our first visit.  They will then  journey on to Kokomo to stay for the remainder of our trip with our daughter.

Adding New Items

In planning our trip it is necessary that we add items not only for safety but also for convenience. Our present  refrigerator is not full size so we are adding another smaller unit to the upper deck. Luckily we found one that not only looks good but will be very handy to access when we are under way.

Boat Prep

Over the last few weeks we have been busy adding items to the boat as well as making upgrades.

a new external GPS antenna for better satellite reception.

We added an anchor pulpit with a secondary anchor.  Mike says we need two anchors for different  bottom types.  The Great Loop Cruisers Association Flag has now been installed on the bow.  It looks like this trip is really going to happen.

Preparing to Leave

New updates to the boat are taking place.  Mike is working on electrical and safety issues.  We brought the dinghy home today to prepare it for the much needed side trips it will be taking to get us to shore when the big boat is not going.  Our daughter is preparing a laptop for us to take along.

Learning to Blog

Autumn
This is the first of many blogs to learn about using the system. I will miss my cats when we go.  My dear sweet daughter has agreed to keep them for me.
